Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

It’s another grey drizzly day as we head off in search of breakfast.. we have high hopes as the weather says it will clear up by 10, but it becomes apparent as we tuck into Corned beef hash (Chris) and eggs over easy with sausage and home fries (me) that this isn’t going to be the case.

Taking charge as we leave our breakfast spot Mike’s Diner Chris orders a Lyft to The Samuel Adams Brewery Company. The hour tour is free, Ryan our guide takes us through the different components of beer and the brewing process. We find out that the brewery in Boston is now an R&D and small scale facility and the bulk of the beer is now made in Cincinnati.

The tour ends in the tasting room were we sample 3 beers, Boston Larger, Summer ale and a new beer beirkeller.

After the tour we spend an hour or so in the tap room sharing the tap room and experiemental beer flight.

We stop for a bite to eat at Bella Luna before heading back to the hotel for to get ready to headout to the ballgame.

We make our way to Fenway Park, Americas favourite ballpark and home of the Boston Red Soxs. Tonight they are playing the Colorado Rockies. As we enter we are given a free J.D Martinez Bobble head, we later find out are in high demand.

After a quick stop in the team shop, a hat for me and a hoodie for Chris we make our way to our seats in the grandstand.

It’s freezing, people are in hats and gloves blankets, Chris has been chivourlous and given me his coat but we’re warmed up by a ball park staple.. the hotdog.

The game goes into extra innings but 4 hours later at 11pm the game is over with the red soxs looking to the Rockies 4 runs to 5.
