Let the Coyote’s Feed Themselves
This was the advice that greeted us upon entering Grand Canyon National Park.
Not long after we were staring over the side of one of the natural wonders of world.
The Grand Canyon …. A massive (over 200 miles long and 10 miles wide) hole in the ground carved over 50 million years by the Colorado River. We spent a day and night here and watched the sunrise and set, took many picture’s, and still only got a small taste of the natural beauty.
And these are just taken by my phone.
An early rise from the Grand Canyon we set of to Kingman.
Williams is host to the Grand Canyon railway and many gift shops.
Seligman is host to the historic Snow Cap drive in, famous for its owners sense of humour. Evident in the decor and menu choices such as The Cheeseburger with Cheese and Dead Chicken.
Seilgman is also home to the Black Cat Bar, although we do not stop for a drink
The Grand Canyon caves…are caves, with a guided tour. You can sleep the night here, not sure you’d want to, but good way to escape the sun for an hour .
Kingman is our stop for the night, at a ‘retro’ motel. So far, very basic, doesn’t seem to have changed since the 50s.
Dinner is at Cracker Barrel, a ‘family’ restaurant, so no beer. America can still be a strange place! We are confused even more by the ‘corn bread’ which seemed to be sweet cakes served with dinner, much to Vic’s amusement
The Motel is known for its vintage neon sign, makes for a nicer night time scene.
