Around the world in 1/2 a day
Wanting to ensure we completed our must do in San Francisco list we rise early and head to to the historic cable car stop on Market and Powell. Beating the queues we enjoy the ride through the various neighbourhoods including China Town untill its final stop near fisherman’s wharf.
Tummy’s rumbling we spot a sign for Pats Cafe so head in for breakfast. Chris is pleased as they offer Corned Beef Hash one of his American Breakfast Favourites.
After a short but steep walk we arrive at Lombard Street “The Crookedest Street in World” we watch people take the drive down the curvey crazieness before jumping back on the cable car.
Having brought a travel day passport we are soon travelling to Golden Gate Park on the Muni bus.
A relaxing hour is spent wandering around the Japenese tea garden. Where we enjoy a cup of tea and some cookies. Our fortune cookie tells us that now is a good time to explore so we head to the Mission District for a burrito.
La Taqueria has the “best burritos and tacos in the world”. We time it well, 5mins after we arrive the queue is out the door!
After tucking into our delicious burrito we head back to to the hotel for a relax in the Spa. On route we spot a festival in Yerba Buena Gardens. We stop and listen and dance to the live Latino Music.
The evening is spent sipping cocktails in the hotel bar ‘The Pied Pier’ and a bar called ‘The View’, which as the name suggests has fantastic views of the city.
We stop for dinner at the California Pizza kitchen before heading back to the hotel.
