Adventure On The High Seas Of Cape Cod

Adventure On The High Seas Of Cape Cod

After a day of culture and history, there was only one plan for today. We hunt for the best mini golf on Cape Cod.

We set out towards Yarmouth and are soon pulling up into a parking lot beside the most impressive looking mini golf we have ever seen.

Skull Island, described as ‘adventure golf’ not only features a massive skull, but a whole pirate scene made up of caves, waterfalls and other water features.

We are soon making our way round the 18 holes, we can take our time as we are lucky to be here at a quiet time, so take plenty of photos as we go round.

Vic wins this round, and we spend some time in the arcade, where we win enough tickets to get a rubber duck dressed like a cow.

We set back off on the road, and soon see the second course of the day ‘Pirates Cove’.

We grab lunch at the nearby Captain Parker’s Pub. After a bit of trouble getting a drink, apparently our drivers licenses weren’t enough proof, we do eventually get 2 pints of the specially brewed Captain Parker’s Ale.

To go with this I opt for the ‘fish and chip’s’. This is actually a proper fish and chips, battered cod and chips similar to potato wedges. Vic go’s for a tuna melt, served again with ‘chips’ which are actually crisps, made here on Cape Cod.

A second round of mini golf follows on Pirates Cove. Pirates cove is even more impressive than Skull Island, with more water features, including cannons you can shoot water out of, and even a hole feature a shot you have to make over a running stream.

This time I win the game, Vic says this course was easier though. We agree that whilst Pirates Cover is more impressive looking, Skull Island is a better game of golf. There are actually 2 courses here so we might have to try the second.

We head back to the hotel, stopping for ice cream at School House, where they make all their ice-cream on site.

Vic looks so happy!

After a bit of time to relax from our beach side seats as the hotel, we decide tonight we should try eating out in Harwich Port.

Not impressed with photo mid mouthful

We take a short walk to Ember, which serves pizza from their coal fired pizza oven. They also have a very impressive looking fire pit outside at their ‘Fire Bar’ which tonight features live music. A lovely way to finish our day of adventure on Cape Cod.
