Bon Soir

Bon Soir

Saturday is mostly spent travelling, so we arrive in Montreal to a rather cold, wet and dark evening. We arrive at the hotel around 21:30 and don’t see much of Montreal on the way.

The only hints that we are somewhere different is the presence of French on road signs and the airport. We note that we should try to remember our GCSE French.

A quick check-in we find the pool is open until 10:30 pm, even though it is raining we also note several people braving the weather. I drop in a quick Merci to our receptionist and we head to our room. Despite it now being around 2 am our time at this point, we muster the energy to hit the pool.

The pool proves to be a great idea, well heated (compared to our local pool) we don’t notice the cold and rain until we have to get out, we even get to practice our French reading skills as we try and remember what Vendredi means on the pool opening hours.

Tomorrow we hope to get a good day walking round Montreal. Mout Royal from where the city gets its name is top of our list if the weather is good. A potentially strenuous hike to the top should reward us with great views of the city.

We will also be visiting our first ever Vegan restaurant, and a Sushi one at that.. more on that next time.
