Today we travelled from Amarillo to Santa Fe via a pre-1937 route 66. Our journey started at the famous Cadillac Ranch. This art consists of 10 cars planted nose down in the soil. After a morning touring the Lincoln sites of Springfield, Brunch was at Cosy Dog. Cosy Dog is a Historic site on Route 66, where the concept of a battered corn dog on a stick was born. And we got a trip mascot for the car
202 miles down, we finish our long day in Springfield, Illinois. Arriving later than planned, we end up at a microbrewery for a late night meal and one of the beers brewed on site. So that’s 2 Buffalo Chicken Horseshoes.. And a couple of Mother Road APAs and Belgian Style IPAs. What’s a horse shoe?
