We’re Not In Canada Anymore

We’re Not In Canada Anymore

Actually we technically are still in Canada, but at the Niagara Falls, a stones throw away from the US border. In fact the border actually splits the Niagara river, so we actually pass between both countries several times over our 2 day stay. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind (or whirlpool even). Niagara falls, whilst being a breathtaking natural landmark, it also happens to be a very popular destination for Canadian, American and tourists from further a field. Hundreds…

Today is a packed itinerary. First we will head up the CN Tower, once the tallest building in the world when built in 1976. Then we will visit Casa Loma, and if we have time end the day with a little history of a few million years at the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) You can’t miss the CN Tower, but still manage to get lost on the way, navigating through the complex system of skywalks, underground walk ways (dubbed PATH)…

It makes for a rememberable morning, as we catch the occasional glimpse…

Our tour guide tells us that in the 1960s the street was left derelict and the government were considering tearing it down to out up a …

An early start finds us heading to Quebec City on the VIA Rail. The 3hrs passes quickly as we watch the Canadian scenery pass by, and are served breakfast, a first for me on a train. Google tells us that the walk to our hotel is a 20 minute, mostly flat stroll. As we check in, having lugged our cases up hills steeper than any at Mount Royal, our receptionist simply laughs ‘yeah right’ as we tell her this. It…
