Cul De Sac

Cul De Sac

Jet lag getting the better of us we wake up early. First port of call a morning swim. Its cold today the weather is not set to get above 12 degrees

Our plan for today is to head to Mont Royal, a free for all park with some impressive views of the city. A quick google suggests the easiest way for us to get to the park is via bus, however getting a ticket seems difficult so we consult with at the reception deck who suggests we would be better getting the tube. The stop is directly under the hotel. We head down, its our first experience of the underground city, and make our way to the tube station. We are surprised by the number of homeless people waiving cups.

We get off at the Mont Royal stop and feel we been ill advised. However we later realise as we are walking through the park it was a good choice as we see very few people, bar some Sunday morning runners.(we later find ourselves in the busy part..more on that later)

We make our way to the 1st view point. There seems to be a cycling event going on, all making the difficult journey to the top, it must be so rewarding heading back down

We contine to walk passing the Monteral cross, radio mast and historic TV mast. Well they do need to be high! As we walk round we spot a sign saying Cul De Sac. Our only reference of the word is in UK housing estates so we continue round only to find the track closed. A brief conversation with a cyclist suggests we can walk down the muddy track and we will make it to round to our second view point. We take him on his word and head down and end up smack bang in the maon carpark. Its so busy, even on this cold day this is the “short” walk they refer to in the guide. We head up to the view point. but you can hardly get to the edge due to all the people. We find a spot and take it in, this is a different view to what we saw earlier

The wind has picked up and it feels really cold so we decide it’s time to leave. We follow the many steps down to “Centre-Ville” slightly relieved we didn’t follow our original plan as we would have had to walk up them all.

Hungry after all that walking we decide to head to Manyards to try their vegan Poutine. I opt for the buffalo and Chris goes for the Tex Mex and we have a corn dog wach too just for good measure. We both prefer mine, the buffalo oyster mushroom we delicious!

We so cold, we decide to head back to the hotel for a rest, not before stopping to get Chris is holiday hat. He opts for a Blue Jay’s hat.

Our meal for tonight is at Bloom, a plant based Sushi resturant. Its a beautiful resturant, and the Sushi was delicious.

Tired we head back to the hotel for a early night.
