Bon Soir

Bon Soir

Saturday is mostly spent travelling, so we arrive in Montreal to a rather cold, wet and dark evening. We arrive at the hotel around 21:30 and don’t see much of Montreal on the way. The only hints that we are somewhere different is the presence of French on road signs and the airport. We note that we should try to remember our GCSE French. A quick check-in we find the pool is open until 10:30 pm, even though it is…

Mad Minnows on Cape Cod.

Mad Minnows on Cape Cod.

Another place we are recommended when we mentioned we are going to Cape Cod Chatham so we head there. It’s much nicer than its UK namesake. We spend some times wandering round the various shops including Ducks in the Window a whole shop devoted to rubber ducks. There is a Christopher, Eric, Adrian and Brooke duck but no Victoria 😞. We end in an Old Fashioned Variety store.. which Chris describes like a pound shop before heading North to the…

Adventure On The High Seas Of Cape Cod

Adventure On The High Seas Of Cape Cod

After a day of culture and history, there was only one plan for today. We hunt for the best mini golf on Cape Cod. We set out towards Yarmouth and are soon pulling up into a parking lot beside the most impressive looking mini golf we have ever seen. Skull Island, described as ‘adventure golf’ not only features a massive skull, but a whole pirate scene made up of caves, waterfalls and other water features. We are soon making our…

Heading to the Cape

Heading to the Cape

We didn’t have that many breakfasts in Boston, but of the ones we go to did we enjoyed Mike’s the most, so we head back their before we depart from Boston. We say Goodbye to Boston as we head to pick up our our rental car, a black Ford Fusion Titanium. Boston airport seems one of the easier airports to drive from, it helps that Chris is now so skilled in the art of American driving that we are able…

How does Florida get it Oranges so Orange!

How does Florida get it Oranges so Orange!

We are greeted with glorious sunshine as we pull back the curtains. Google says it’s going to be 21c max so I put on my shorts (Chris always has his on, it’s not weather dependent!) And head out.. there’s only one thing to do on a day like this It’s busy out as we artfully navigate ourselves to Long wharf the starting point of various boat tours. We are here for one trip in particular..the search for Codzilla. The boat…

Today This Could Be The Greatest Day Of Our Lives

Today This Could Be The Greatest Day Of Our Lives

Waking up with sore feet, our breakfast trip is to CVS to buy foot related supplies and some US ‘candy’ Inspired by Koo Koo Kanagroo throwing some into the crowd last night and it being mentioned several times I try the ‘Whoopers’. Turns out these are just slightly harder versions of Malteasers. It’s another rainy day in Boston and we don’t really feel like walking much. We get a Lyft down to the Quincy Market area and spend some time…

And I would walk 364.4 Smoots!

Today is the 1st evening of Frank Turner so we decide the day should give our feet a little rest, so we grab a Lyft across the water to Cambridge to the MIT campus and museum. Our 1st stop is a little cafe for MIT breakfast burrito, Chris and I look a little out of place as it is filled with Students all working on their Macs..although we are not really sure how much work you could really get done….

The British Are Coming

The British Are Coming

Having spent the week so far drinking lots of coffee, today we set off in search of tea. We hear they have a really good ‘tea party’ down at the harbour. We take a nice stroll (the weather has picked up today) and a stop at ‘Finagle A Bagel’ for breakfast. A fairly average breakfast of their ‘famous egg’ bagle gives us our most impressive view for breakfast so far. Trinity Church was built from 1872 to 1877 and is…

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

It’s another grey drizzly day as we head off in search of breakfast.. we have high hopes as the weather says it will clear up by 10, but it becomes apparent as we tuck into Corned beef hash (Chris) and eggs over easy with sausage and home fries (me) that this isn’t going to be the case. Taking charge as we leave our breakfast spot Mike’s Diner Chris orders a Lyft to The Samuel Adams Brewery Company. The hour tour…
