In Cod We Trust

In Cod We Trust

Our evening was spent drinking and driving. Luckily this was encouraged at A4Cade. A late night video game arcade, serving cocktails and very strong beers. As well as the games and drinks, we also had a DJ mixing various hits, mostly from the 90s. Which suited us fine. I’m not sure everyone else there was even born in the 90s. Although there was a strict over 21 policy. Waking surprisingly early we set off to walk the Freedom Trail. We…

Nice Weather for Ducks.

Nice Weather for Ducks.

After a long day travelling yesterday and an early night following a quick bite to eat at five guys saw us wake nice and refreshed to greet a grey rainy Sunday in Boston. Not letting the rain dampen our spirits we grab a hotel umbrella and head out. Our 1st stop breakfast at Thorntons, a traditional American style breakfast. Chris opts for Haveneros Ranchos I go for ameretto french toast with a side of fruit for good measure. We start…

Hi Ho Hi Ho, We Head Out To The Punk Rock Show

Hi Ho Hi Ho, We Head Out To The Punk Rock Show

2017 saw us, along with a little help from Frank Turner, start a new tradition. The Lost Evenings festival, having spent 2 years based in Camden, is now travelling the world. And this year it’s in Boston. Having never been to Boston, it seemed a good excuse to make a holiday of things. And so it is we find our selves due to ‘ship out to Boston’ for 2 weeks. 4 days and nights of which will be spent singing,…

Liva Las Vegas

Liva Las Vegas

Its now 17:40 Chicago time, having left the Luxor and the others back in Vegas around 9am. Just another 12 hours to go until we land back on British soil once again. The past 24hrs we have tried to say good bye to Vegas and the family the best we can. Most of us managed to sample one of Vegas’ famous buffets. I mange 3 plates, from Italian to Mexican and finishing with Chinese. I think Vic, Lee and Mum…

You Can Find Us In The Club

You Can Find Us In The Club

We take a well earned rest for everyone’s first full day in Vegas and spend a morning baking in the Sun, pool (and pyramid) side. Lunch is served in style at Hooters. Where we devour 50 chicken wings, well most of them, some got boxed for a much needed late night snack later. A glizty Vegas style show follows, down at the Wynn. Showtunes from all the ages are performed with a live orchestra.   We end the night back…

Room With A View

Room With A View

Our day begins at a leisurely pace, enjoying the Vegas sun by the pool. Before we know it, we are reunited with Julie, Lee and Mum, as we welcome their slightly less relaxed selves to Vegas. We are soon checking out the views of the Luxor from each others room, admiring the Sphinx that sits outside Julie and Lees room, as Auntie Janet arrives to take Mum out for the night. A few hours later and the rest of us…

Don’t Stop Me Now.

Don’t Stop Me Now.

Travelling at the speed of light. That’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit. Although I still don’t know what they are on about when they say its 76 degrees. Last time we blogged we were in San Francisco. We are now in Las Vegas, completing our 1086 mile journey of the West Coast. Today I’ve driven 8 hrs, criss crossing through Califronia and Nevada.  Since the last blog we have traveled to Yosemite. Walked for a whole day. And climed…

Around the world in 1/2 a day

Around the world in 1/2 a day

Wanting to ensure we completed our must do in San Francisco list we rise early and head to to the historic cable car stop on Market and Powell.  Beating the queues we enjoy the ride through the various neighbourhoods including China Town untill its final stop near fisherman’s wharf. Tummy’s rumbling we spot a sign for Pats Cafe so head in for breakfast.  Chris is pleased as they offer Corned Beef Hash one of his American Breakfast Favourites. After a…

It’s Like A Fishy Soup

It’s Like A Fishy Soup

These are the exact words to come out of Vic’s mouth when I ask how one of San Francisco’s most famous dishes ‘Clam Chowder’ was. Served in one of the areas other specialties, a bowl made of sour dough and from the famous ‘Boudin’ bakery. It still seems to leave her little underwhelmed. We are taking a well earned rest at this point.  Having just completed a few hours biking from San Fran to Sausiltio, including crossing “The most famous…

Do you know the way to San Jose

Do you know the way to San Jose

Fuelled by the hotel’s bagel bar breakfast the day starts with a stroll to Carmel’s beach.   The crash of the waves breaking was actually quite relaxing  and we stand for a while just soaking in the atmosphere.  The walk back to the hotel sees us picking up a significant otter to keep us company for the remainder of our journey. On route to San Fransico we stop at the Computer History Museum  in Silicon Valley.  We join the tour…
